CommentsSo I guess you sold that Wonder Woman commission that you had at nycc11 on Sunday? Did you make a copy of it at least?
It was nice to meet you again, as always you are very cool. Peace! Duuuude, mental pencils and and rediculously nice marker illustrations, I'm starting to really dig doing those too.
If I may sayyy one little itty bitty thing about your inks that I think would make them even better. (I know you don't really need critiquing, but I think it's a positive if you end up agreeing, so I just want to throw it out there) -hatching transitions hard blacks into light, it's basically a graphic way of illustrating a gradiant. so when you make skinny thin lines that emerge out of the blacks toward the light they look disconnected from the hard blacks as oppose to transitioning out from the black towards the light. thats the illusion the effect is attempting to demonstrate. another way to do it is to tightly follow the curves or volume of the surface it's on if it's not a completely flat surface. so making ur hatch lines thick to thin from the black towards the light will really really boost that effect by a lot. Mind you in some areas what your doing is fine if you want to distinquish a texture that way. [link] is a good example of what I'm trying to say, the hatching on the dude in the background would have hugely benefited from this, and so would some other areas in that piece. Mind you it's a wicked piece. Your art is great! and your inks are pretty solid overall too! I hope I didn't insult you. Have a good day! -- Check out my Gallery and let me know what you think!
