Yup, it's me. Thrilled to be on board this book, my favourite Marvel book in years.

Here's an article on what's coming up along with some preview art.

As announced at C2E2 2014, I am one of the new batch of Marvel’s Young Guns. Not so young anymore as the title suggests but I'm thrilled to be a part of this group of artists and this initiative by Marvel that pushes artists to the spotlight for a change.

Official Press Release

Recently announced this past weekend at C2E2 in Chicago, Marvel is proud to officially unveil the members of the All-New Young Guns, the next generation of Marvel artists and superstars in the making! These six artists are on the precipice of setting the comic industry ablaze with their bombastic art and blockbuster comics!

Originally launched in 2004, the Young Guns program shined a spotlight on the best and brightest in the comic book industry early in their careers. Previous groups of Young Guns have gone on to transform the industry with their dynamic work on Marvel’s greatest heroes. From premier talents like Jim Cheung, Steve McNiven, Adi Granov, David Finch, Olivier Coipel, and many more – previous Young Guns have gone on to draw blockbuster Marvel events, launch critically acclaimed new series, and become some of the top artists in the industry.

Discussing the benefits of the Young Guns program in an interview with Marvel.com, Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso said “I think it underscores our reputation as a publisher who is always on the lookout for new talent, and cements the fact that we do not have a house style here at Marvel. Great artists come in all forms. Each of these artists is very different from the next.”
Today, Marvel is proud to continue that tradition with 2014’s exciting crop of All-New Young Guns:

· Ryan Stegman, artist of Wolverine and new ongoing artist of Inhuman

· Nick Bradshaw, artist of Guardians of the Galaxy

· Sara Pichelli, artist of Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Men

· Valerio Schiti, artist of Mighty Avengers and New Avengers

· Mahmud Asrar, artist of Wolverine and the X-Men

· David Marquez, artist of Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man

“I can remember the day I saw the work of each one of these new Young Guns, from Nick back on Danger Girl, to Mahmud back in his early indie days, to reviewing Sara’s portfolio at a bar in Dublin,” says Marvel SVP, Creator & Content Development CB Cebulski. “It’s been amazing to watch them all come to Marvel and flourish as they have on our comics and characters. As the editors here knew they would with each new assignment. And wait until you see what we have in store for them all next!”
In addition to their regular series’, each of the All-New Young Guns will contribute a special variant cover to July’s highly anticipated new series The Legendary Star-Lord #1, from Sam Humphries and Paco Medina! Be on the lookout for more exciting new projects and series from the All-New Young Guns to be announced in the next few months!

But that’s not all! Each of the All-New Young Guns will be at NYC’s newest convention, Special Edition NYC this June! Don’t miss your once in a lifetime opportunity to meet some of the hottest artists in the industry! For more information, visit SpecialEditionNYC.com.

The original groups of Young Guns have made their indelible mark on the comic book industry and this latest group is poised and ready to do the same. A new group of future hall-of-famers are here. This is Marvel’s All-New Young Guns!

Farewell by MahmudAsrar

Dear friends,

As apparent from my absence in the last few issues of Supergirl I am no longer the series artist on the book. I will no longer be drawing the book and #20 was my final issue. I will however remain the cover artist on the book for just a few more issues.

What kept me from drawing the book initially was some health issues after which I had to rest for a bit. In the meantime I was offered some other projects which I took into consideration. Offers that ultimately had me make some important decisions. Unfortunately one of these decisions was to resign from art duties on Supergirl. Believe me, It was not an easy decision but one I had to make for the sake of several things in my career and life.

Over the past couple of years I've had an amazing time defining Supergirl for the New 52 with my collaborators in DC Entertainment. It was an honour to be a part of this bold new direction for DC. I was probably among the lucky few who had a wonderful team of collaborators throughout the whole thing, some of whom I've come to call good friends. My creative partners Mike Johnson, Michael Green, Michael Alan Nelson, Dave McCaig, Rob Leigh and some awesome others - My editors Wil Moss, Matt Idelson, Eddie Berganza and Rickey Purdin - The whole crew at DC Entertainment who've made everything work smoothly and was helpful throughout. I thank each and everyone sincerely.

Last but certainly not least, I'd like to thank you all so much for sharing your appreciation towards my art on this book. Can't tell you how much it means when I hear somebody say they've been buying the book just because I was drawing it. You guys are awesome.

This was definitely one of the highlights of my career and I'll look back fondly.

Now other things await me. Exciting new things that you'll find out about soon enough. See you in the funny books. Here's a sneak peek on what's next:

Yep, that's right. I'm both on Instagram and Tumblr. Have actually been there gor a while too. In fact they both are my primary places to post my art now.

mahmudasrar.tumblr.com or mahmudasrar.com is where I post almost everything these days. Art, links, thoughts, whatever.

Also I,m mahmudasrar on Instagram. Again it's where I post lots of art and teaser stuff.

So go ahead and add me on both of those... If you want. It's not a hard sell. :)

Of course I'll continue to be a part of the DA community.
